Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish National Honor Society)

Chapter’s  name….La vida es sueño ( Life is a Dream). It was named after a famous play by Pedro Calderón de la Barca which explores the conflict between free will  and predestination.

Chapter began when the school opened  

Initiated by Mrs. Fe Zamora, Spanish teacher

Students invited to join have a minimum GPA of 3.0 overall and a minimum Spanish GPA of 3.75 AFTER three years of studying the language and must continue to study and promote the language of Spanish throughout their membership at West Boca.

Inductions in the Spring each year.

The Society meets once per month in room 12-101

Projects in previous years:

Weekly tutoring of Spanish during second lunch and after school in Rm. 12-101
Adopt a Family or Angel Tree from the Salvation Army during the Holidays
Toys for Tots
Food Drive
Assisted the Spanish Club in various functions
End of the year gathering / dinner
