National Technical Honor Society

The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), founded in 1984, is the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding achievement in career and technical education in America.  More than 2,500 schools and colleges throughout the United States and its territories are affiliated with the Society.

An invitation for membership in the West Boca Raton High School Chapter of NTHS is offered to a senior student enrolled as an “academy completer” in any of West Boca High’s four academies.  The senior is required to have both an overall and an academy GPA of 3.5, as well as acceptable conduct and attendance.  An induction ceremony is held each fall.

NTHS Members serve as Academy Ambassadors, promoting the value of academy programs through marketing and recruitment activities, including middle school visits, open houses and educational tours.  The Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce is the sponsor of NTHS and offers NTHS Members opportunities to attend Chamber events and shadow Chamber personnel.  Other member benefits include NTHS scholarship eligibility, online educational and career resources, and letters of recommendation for employment, college admissions, or scholarships.
